How to Replace Kitchen Cabinet Door Easily?

The kitchen cabinets are important parts of the kitchen. The kitchen will look bad and uninteresting when the doors are broken or worn out. If your cabinet doors are broken, you will need to do replacement for kitchen cabinet doors. If you plan to replace the entire kitchen cabinets, it can be very pricey. It would be better to replace only the worn out doors instead of replacing the whole cabinets. It does not only save you money but also your time and energy.

In addition to money saving, to make replacement for kitchen cabinet doors is very easy to do. This project needs a couple of hours to complete depending on how many worn out doors you want to replace. To do this project you will need these things with you: knobs or handles, screwdriver, new cabinet doors and drill. When all items you need have been prepared, follow the steps below to replace your kitchen cabinet doors.
  • Unscrew the old doors from the hinges and remove them. You do not need to move the hinges but keep them attached to the cabinet boxes.
  • With the hinges installed on the cabinet boxes, attach a new door to them. While holding the door up to the hinges, make a mark to know where you should put the screws into the hinges.
  • You need to pre-drill the screws’ holes so that you do not split the wood of your new cabinet door. Pre-drilling the screw’s hole will help you screw the door right onto the hinges easily. However, you may not tighten the screws carelessly or you may damage the wood. Before tightening the screws, you need to adjust the door and the hinge to make sure they are on the right level.
  • After placing the new door, you can place the knobs or handles on the right position you want. After knowing the right place, then make a mark. Make a precise measurement from the bottom of the cabinet and in from the side to that mark. Make sure that all the knobs or handles are in the same place on each door by making a mark on each cabinet.
  • Attach the knobs or handles after pre-drilling the screws’ holes. Tighten the screws and your replacement for kitchen cabinet doors is accomplished.

If possible, you can do replacement for kitchen cabinet doors yourself; otherwise, you can ask someone’s help for better result.
