How to Build Custom Pantry Shelving

Pantry cabinets are the most used furniture in the kitchens. Almost all kitchens have pantry cabinets with their different sizes, shapes and designs. It is no matter what pantry cabinets you have - even they are custom pantry cabinet - the most important thing they are useful and helpful to your activities in the kitchen. At least they help you organize and store your items neatly so that your kitchens may look interesting and well-organized. Even the luxury pantry cabinets will not be meaningful if they are useless and you can not utilize them effectively and efficiently.

One way to customize your custom pantry cabinets is to build custom pantry shelving. Pantry shelving is very useful to make your kitchen organized and good looking. Building pantry shelving can be done to all sizes of pantries; they can be large pantries or small ones. It is easy for you to build custom pantry shelving yourselves. You just need a person who is well-experienced in woodworking. The time you need to complete the project is depending on the sizes and designs. You can finish it in a few hours, a day, a week, or more depending on how skillful you are.

Here are the basic materials you need: hardwood shelving, stud finder, metal brackets, wood screws, drill, table or circular saw, level, and tape measure. Follow the steps below to complete your shelving:

1.   Make accurate measurement of your shelves width and depth. Don’t forget to decide the number of shelves.
2.   Take a tape measure and a square to mark your wood the correct length and straight lines. Remember to cut always on the outside edge of the lines.
3.   Sand down the each piece of wood for a smooth finish and apply some protective stain with a brush to get the desired color.
4.   Take your shelves to the pantry and draw lines for placement using level. Locate wall studs and screw in mounting brackets. Screw the shelves to the brackets from the underside.
5.   After installing the shelves you can add other options or elements.
