begin installing the crown molding by following the steps below:
Steps
- Use
your measuring tape to measure the height of each cabinet. Do not forget
to write down the measurements of the sides of each cabinet. You may have
different-sized cabinets according to the size of your kitchen and its
cabinets.
- Use
your pencil to mark the crown molding pieces based on the measurement. If
you use a pencil, it will be easy for you to wipe off the marks after
cutting. Follow the measurement when cutting the crown molding into pieces
for each side of the cabinet. Cut the ends of each piece at a 45-degreee
angle.
- Take one
piece of crown molding and hold it along the top of the cabinet. Use a
1-inch wood nail to attach the piece to the cabinet. Follow the same steps
for the three additional pieces of crown molding. Attach them to the
cabinet while lining the pieces up together.
- If you
want to install crown molding for other cabinets in your kitchen, then repeat
step 3 on them.
- Finally, apply a dab of wood putty to the top of each nail and use your hand to smooth down. Sand the top of the putty gently using fine-grit sandpaper after being dry overnight.
Your Thomasville kitchen cabinets are now ready to appear with different
look and elegance.
